Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE JUNE 16, 2026·LAST UPDATED JUNE 16, 2026

This policy explains what information the Breakfast Baseball app handles and how. If you have questions, contact us at support@breakfastbaseball.com.

The short version

Profile and preferences stay on your device — we do not collect or store your display name, favorite team, or other profile fields on our servers.

The app fetches public baseball statistics from our API to show scores, leaderboards, and highlights.

Optional anonymous usage and crash data may be sent to our API to help us understand how the app is used and fix problems. This is on by default; you can turn it off anytime in Settings.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude).

We do not sell your data or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

Information stored on your device

The following is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad using iOS storage (UserDefaults). It is not uploaded to our servers as profile data and is not linked to an account:

Data
Purpose
Display name (optional)
Shown in Settings only
Favorite team (optional)
Personalizes your experience (e.g. sorting on Home)
Appearance preference
Light, dark, or system theme
Haptic settings
Whether feedback is on and how strong it is
Analytics preference
Whether you have chosen to share anonymous usage and crash data
Anonymous install identifier
A random ID generated on your device so we can count installs and group anonymous events without knowing who you are
Recent pitcher searches
Quick access to pitchers you searched for
Saved trend configurations
Chart settings you choose to save in Stats

You can remove this data by deleting the app or clearing individual items (e.g. search history) where the app allows it.

Information sent to our API

When you use the app, it connects to our baseball statistics API to load content. Requests include only what is needed to fetch that content, for example:

·Game dates and seasons
·Leaderboard filters (metric, role, team, date range, etc.)
·Pitcher IDs or search terms you type (player names)
·Parameters for highlights, box scores, and trend data

These requests contain public baseball information, not your profile name or favorite team. The app does not send a user account ID, email, or password — there is no sign-in.

Our server may receive standard technical data with any web request, such as IP address, device type, and timestamps. We use this only to operate and protect the service, not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Anonymous usage & crash reporting OPTIONAL

If Share Anonymous Usage Data is enabled in Settings (the default), the app sends limited, anonymous information to our API. We run this ourselves — we do not use a third-party analytics provider. Each install is assigned a random anonymous ID stored on your device. It is not tied to your name, email, Apple ID, or profile. Along with that ID, we may send:

Data
Purpose
App version
Understand which releases are in use
iOS version
Diagnose OS-specific issues
Device model
Understand device mix; we do not collect a serial number or advertising identifier
Usage events
See which parts of the app are used (e.g. tab selected, tools opened, trends saved, Film Room opened)
Event properties
Non-identifying context such as season, pitch type, or metric count — not player names or search text
Crash summaries
High-level crash information from Apple's MetricKit (e.g. signal or exception type, termination reason) — not full stack traces with personal content

What we do not collect in analytics

·Your display name or favorite team
·Search queries or text you type
·Pitcher names or IDs in analytics events
·Saved trend names or configurations
·Photos, contacts, location, health, or payment data
·Cross-app or cross-website tracking for advertising

Your control & retention

You can turn off Share Anonymous Usage Data at any time in Settings → Privacy. When disabled, the app stops sending new usage events and crash summaries. One final "opt out" event may be sent so we can record that you chose to disable sharing.

Anonymous usage and crash records are stored on our servers in aggregated log files. We keep them only as long as needed for analysis and reliability, then delete or aggregate them. They are not linked to your profile or an account.

Third-party services

Our API

All in-app stats, leaderboards, game data, highlight metadata, and optional anonymous analytics are handled by our API. We control that service. Your device-stored profile data (name, favorite team) is not sent to analytics endpoints.

MLB Film Room

When you watch a highlight, the app may open MLB Film Room in an in-app browser or Safari. That content is hosted by Major League Baseball, not by us. MLB's own privacy policy applies to that site. Breakfast Baseball does not host or embed video.

Apple

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect information according to its privacy policy. Crash summaries we receive come from Apple MetricKit diagnostics processed by the app and sent to our server when you have sharing enabled. This is separate from Apple's optional device-level crash reporting, which Apple handles directly if you enable it in iOS settings.

What we do not do

·We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
·We do not sell personal information.
·We do not track you across apps or websites for advertising ("App Tracking Transparency" is not used because we do not track for advertising).
·We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, health data, or payment information.

Children

Breakfast Baseball is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

On your device: data remains until you change or delete it, or uninstall the app. On our servers: we do not store your profile. Anonymous analytics, crash records, and access logs are kept only as long as needed for operation and security.

Your choices

·Turn off Share Anonymous Usage Data in Settings → Privacy.
·Turn off Haptic Feedback in Settings.
·Avoid entering a display name or favorite team if you prefer.
·Clear recent searches in Search where available.
·Delete saved trends in Stats.
·Uninstall the app to remove all local data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
